Our Story

The Sewn Assembly is a collection of social, fashion-based workshops. We reject the culture of disposable fashion and we believe that learning to mend, alter and even create our own clothes is the way forward. Explore our three slow fashion concepts:

Self-Made Studio

Ever imagined your dream outfit and couldn’t shop it anywhere? Learn how to make garments you’d actually want to wear, always in 100% natural fabrics.

Our designs are made in collaboration with professional pattern-makers, so you can enjoy the best of the creative experience, without the usual overwhelm of where to start. Learn how to sew by hand, on a machine and take away the essential sewing skills you need to make your clothes fit from now on!

Mindful Mending Club

Learn to mend or alter your clothes, for the price of a coffee in London. Join our beloved community event that takes place every month in Shoreditch. You'll be guided by a team of professional bespoke tailors, pattern-makers and hobbyist fashion designers on how to get your clothes back into circulation.

Everything is provided, including tea, coffee and conversation. Just bring your clothes that needs some TLC.

Sip & Stitch

Sip, stitch and maybe meet your new bestie, over a glass (or two) of wine.

These social classes cover a variety of repair and customisation techniques such as, embroidery, crystal-application and creative mending (darning). Check the date and availability for the activity you're interested in. Wine samples are included for each guest.

In 2025, she was named 40 under 40 Women Of Hope by ELLE UK. She has written for Who What Wear, British Vogue, Cosmopolitan and The Telegraph.
